Facebook Latest News, Updates: Adblock Allows Users to Stop Facebook's Atlas Ads
Facebook's Atlas was introduced recently and since then it has been a lot in the news. Recently, reports pointed out how people are scared of being followed by ads on the Internet. This is why Adblock is being introduced in order to stop it. It is just so difficult when something is following every movement. Adblock is designed to stop following, thus preventing the social network from following your every movement not only on the internet but also on other devices. First thing first, you need to install an Adblock Plus on your chosen browser and your device. According to Facebook, they already used the data from the users in order to dish up targeted ads. But when Atlas was unveiled earlier this week, it has become a competitor to Google. Basically, Atlas allows ads on Facebook in order to come in other places, through the use of gathered data from Facebook. Adblock is actually a free program, which means it comes with zero cost.
This latest Atlas ad measurement platform from Facebook has the industry abuzz that promises marketers to track all the consumers across different devices through online behaviors. On Monday, Facebook formally unveiled Atlas. However, tools are already emerging to help people stop tracking them. According to the blog post, granting that Adblock Plus applauds modernism that eventually improves great advertising experience for every user, the company firmly believes that every user must have the option as to whether or not they want to be targeted and tracked. According to Facebook, Atlas comes with the privacy policies that are applicable to its own service, as well as specific identities of the member that have never left Facebook.
According to David Jakubowski, the head of ad technology of Facebook, Facebook is precisely targeting and Atlas does not change that. It does not tell telmarketers who you are, rather they just enable marketers to gain benefits from implementing the same methods on Facebook across channels. As Adblock Plus pointed out, its goal is only to give consumers the control and the choice over where and how they are tracked across the website.
