Moto Droid Turbo vs Moto X 2014: Battle of the Two Motorola Smartphones; Specs, Features, Price Compared!
Their lack of innovation has been the reason of their downfall. While Samsung and Apple have been the grueling rivals for years, the former known smartphone maker disappeared in the circulation. After years of silence, Motorola is now back in track, and their new found momentum was brought by the improved handsets that they have recently launched.
The Silicon Valley-based tech-company has recently launched the Moto X 2014 version. Its predecessor got positive reception from the tech-buffs and the consumers. Now, a lot of Moto fans have been waiting for the upcoming Moto Droid Turbo that International Business Times reported features that can "kill Google Nexus 6." But before comparing Motorola to other rival handsets, here is the comparison of the two 'sibling' smartphones, Moto Droid Turbo and Moto X 2014.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, while Moto X 2014 exudes elegance when it comes to design, Motorola Droid Turbo is said to be a strong but smooth handset. Metal is the main material used for Moto X 2014 and it will be available for several colors. Meanwhile, Droid Turbo's back will be made by Kevlar, a smooth bullet-proof material used in making helmets and vests of SWAT members.
Both gadgets have the same display size at 5.2-inch HD screen but Moto Droid Turbo will score another point as its screen is said to be made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which means it will be scratch-and-scruff- proof. The upcoming smartphone from Motorola will have QHD 1440 x 2560 resolution while Moto X 2014 will have AMOLED screen that can play 1080p videos.
NDTV cited that Moto Droid Turbo will also have a superior processor with its Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.6 GHz compared to Moto X 2014's Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. Motorola's new phone will also have larger RAM at 3GB while Moto X 2014 has 2GB RAM only.
In terms of camera, Moto Droid Turbo still has the better snapper at 21MP with dual-LED flash against Moto X 2014's 13MP rear camera with ring flash module that "softens glare in flash photography." Both handsets will have Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.
As the latest Motorola flagship phone, to be released later this month, Droid Turbo is also packed with unique features like Moto Actions, Moto Display and Moto Connect. The new smartphone will also have limited water resistance capability, which means it can repel liquid intrusion and can withstand 20 minutes of rain.
Motorola Droid Turbo will also have Turbo charging capability that allows user to have an eight-hour battery life after charging the handset for 15 minutes only.
There is no price yet for the upcoming Droid Turbo while Moto X 2014 16GB is available at $499.
