'2014 Mac Mini' News, Release Date: Latest CPU and Graphics, Faster Wi-Fi, Two Thunderbolt 2 Ports an Upgrade Packed into an Incredibly Compact Design
Finally! "Mac mini" has been confirmed by "Apple" during their launching program last October 16 and Apple users are all excited.
The 2014 "Mac mini" updates have been made official, "Mac mini's" are now available for purchase online at the Apple Store. Shipping time frame for the available configurations would be around 1-3 days while custom configuration takes 3-5 days. But since the product is still fresh I expect the line of orders would a long one entirely because many would like to get hold of the Apple item as soon as possible.
What's inside the 2014 Mac Mini? As reported in Macrumors, during the media event, the Apple's senior vice president of World Marketing Phillip Schiller, described the "Mac Mini" as a product that people love.
"People love "Mac mini". It's a great first Mac or addition to your home network, and the new "Mac mini" is a nice upgrade packed into an incredibly compact design....With the latest CPU and graphics, faster Wi-Fi, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, "OS X Yosemite" and starting at just $499, the new "Mac mini" is the best value ever."
Pretty much, Schiller did provide a very good description of the 2014 "Mac mini", but let me give you more specification basing from Pcadvisor.
Aesthetically speaking, it looks the same with its ancestor, that little white box that has the Apple signature on top. Apple also retained the Intel's "Haswell" processors, 802. 11ac Wi-fi and Thunderbolt 2.
The 2014 "Mac mini" is available in 3 choices of configuration equipped with a dual core Intel "Core i5" -- 1.4GHz, 2.6GHz or 2.8GHz.
Configuration 1, the "Mac mini" comes with 1.4 GHz dual-core "Core i5" processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive and Intel HD Graphics 5000.
Configuration 2, the "Mac mini" brings forth 2.6GHz dual-core Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive and "Intel Iris Graphics".
Configuration 3, the best of its kind, the "Mac mini" is furnished with 2.8GHz dual-core Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, "1TB Fusion Drive" and "Intel Iris Graphics.
If you want to have a more powerful device and willing to shell out additional money on top of the quoted price, Apple does have two options for you: the two higher-end models can be configured to add 3.0GHz dual core "Core i7 processor and memory wise all are configurable up to 16GB.
Of course, "Mac mini" runs the latest "OS X Yosemite".
