Kingdom Hearts 3 Still In Development, Game Creator Nomura Making New Outfits For Sora and Riku
Kingdom Hearts 3 release date is December 31, 2015, according to Amazon which is already now accepting pre-orders at $59.99 for the Kingdom Hearts III - PlayStation 4 version. Officially though, the upcoming role-playing action video game is still under development at the Square Enix studios. Game creator and director Tetsuya Nomura in an interview with Famitsu [as translated by Gematsu] said that "Right now, we're doing the scenario writing and world selection. I'm also making the new outfits for Sora and Riku." In any event, it's already nown that Kingdom Hearts III takes place immediately after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - with Riku and Sora having just completed their Mark of Mastery exams, but with Sora failing to be recognized as a Keyblade Master.
The latest Kingdom Hearts 3 news has it that Sora will remain as the game's lead protagonist and that it will continue to feature Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku as his main supporting cast. However, Sora and Riku, after having become Keyblade Masters in the previous "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" game, now will have the ability to change the shape of their Keyblades. According to game creator Nomura, as reported by Kotaku, the main crux of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 will be Sora's final confrontation with Master Xehanort, the series' main villain. Interestingly, according to Kdrama Stars, co-creator Tai Yasue reportedly hinted during an interview with NovaCystallis that for Kingdom Hearts 3, 'Frozen,' 'Star Wars' and even 'Marvel' characters might also be included in the story line for the upcoming game.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is the eighth installment in the Kingdom Heart series, which began with the release of 'Kingdom Hearts' in 2002, followed by 'Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories' in 2004, then by 'Kingdom Hearts II' in 2005, then by 'Kingdom Hearts coded' in 2008, then by 'Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep' in 2010, and finally, 'Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance' in 2012. There are already Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers footage on IGN's Official Kingdom Hearts 3 wiki page for those interested. According to the wiki, Nomura in an interview with the Japanese language site Famitsu said: "We're proceeding along with which worlds we'll be selecting for the game. It's the final episode in the 'Dark Seeker' saga that began with the original Kingdom Hearts, and it'll depict the final battle with Xehanort."
