Schumacher, 45-years of age is a seven time world champion in the F1 grand Prinx from Germany suffered tremendous brain injury while skiing in the French Alps last December when he fell and hit his head on a rock. He was put into a medically induced coma to reduce the swelling in his brain as he was under intensive care at Grenoble then he was taken to Lausanne, Switzerland. Once he got a little bit better he was taken out of the coma and is now recuperating in his home in Gland, Switzerland. Sources revealed that Prof Payen still visits him from time to time to track his progress, according to Daily Mail news reports.

"Life after a head injury is punctuated by stages, we hope, but we have to give him time," Payen told RTL radio on Thursday. This news comes only a few weeks after Schumacher's 15 year old son revealed to the media that his father was waking up slowly. The French F1 commentator, Jean Louis Moncet had earlier told Europe 1 radio station, "I saw his son and he told me that Schumacher is waking up very slowly; very slowly. Although things are going at a slow pace, he has a lot of time, I would say he has his whole life in front of him to get back on track.
