iPhone 6 versus Galaxy S5 Plus: Rivalry Continues; Samsung's Fastest Smartphone Reigns Superior Compared to Apple's New Handset
Apple was able to neutralize the smartphone battlefield that once dominated by Samsung, after the launch of its biggest iPhone series to date. But the rivalry between the two tech-giants is far from being over. If the Cupertino-based company has its latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, the Korea-based tech-giants has recently launched its upgraded version of Galaxy S5, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus.
So if you are one of those who have not purchased the biggest iPhone yet, here is a brief but detailed comparison of the iPhone 6 and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus as reported by GSM Arena, Forbes, and Tech Times.
As the upgraded version of the Galaxy S5, S5 plus shares almost the same specifications and body, but its top feature is its Snapdragon 805 chipset, which is the fastest Qualcomm chipset to date. This upgrade from 801 to 805 chip makes the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus the fastest Android smartphone as of now.
The new and improved S5 Plus has also an upgraded Adreno 420 GPU and a new Krait 450 processor. iPhone 6, on the other hand, is powered by Apple A8 processor with dual-core Arm v8-based processor clocked at 1.4GHz and with PowerVR GX6450 GPU that gives quad-core graphics.
Galaxy S5 Plus is also bigger in terms of its body at 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm or 5.59 x 2.85 x 0.32 in compared to iPhone 6's 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm or 5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27 in. The Korea-based company's latest smartphone has also a larger screen compared to Apple's iPhone 6 at 5.1-inch with 1920 x 1080 pixel display versus 4.7-inch with 750 x 1334 resolution.
In terms of storage capacity, iPhone 6 has three variants; 16GB, 64GB and 128GB non-expandable internal memory while Galaxy S5 Plus has 16GB expandable storage through micro SD. Samsung also has a superior RAM at 2GB compare to Apple's 1GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus is also superior in terms of its 16MP main camera compared to Apple's iPhone 6 with 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels snapper. S5 Plus is also powered by 2,800 mAh removable battery while iPhone 6 has Non-removable Li-Po 1810 mAh battery.
