Aaron Shust Surprises Fans with the Release of New EP "Ever Be" & Writes a Devotional
Singer and songwriter Aaron Shust surprises fans when he announced today that he will be released a new 3 song-EP this Friday. The EP comprises of Shust's take of the worship cover of Bethel Music's worship hit, "Ever Be." The other two songs on the EP include "Fear Not" and "God Evermore."
In preparation of the EP's release, Shust has written a devotional that gives exposition to the song "Ever Be."
Over 15 years ago I stood before Sarah Marie Lopez and, in front of a room full of friends and family, we vowed to love each other whether life got better or worse, whether we were healthy or sick, whether we had money or didn't have a dime to our names. We vowed that only death would be able to put an end to that love. I know that the love we have pledged to each other, for each other, is only a shadow of the love we will have for each other in the life to come: an unadulterated, pure love we will have foreveryone! (One of the reasons I sing "Come Quickly, Jesus!")
And that love is only a mere shadow of the love the Father has for us, His children! He is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to Him in repentance. And He calls us His Bride! He uses the example of marriage in both the Old and New Testaments to illustrate His level of commitment to us!
"As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you!" (Isa 62:5)
"I will betroth you to Me forever" (Hos 2:19)
"I made My vow to you and entered into a covenant with you", declares the Lord God, "and you became Mine." (Ez 16:8)
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her...that He might present the church to Himself in splendor" (Eph 5:25)
"The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His Bride has made herself ready" (Rev 19:7)
What is the vow, the pledge, the covenant of commitment that our Lord has given to us? There are many statements of promise and hope found in His Word to us, but my favorites are, "I will never leave you nor forsake you"(Deut 31:6) and "I am with you always, even to the end of the world" (Matt 28:20)
Never have I heard this imagery captured so beautifully than in the songEver Be. I fell in love with this song last year when I first heard it and am reminded of the verse that says that we only love because He first loved us! (1 John 4:19) It's because of His incredible, enduring love that we have any and every reason in the world to sing our heartfelt praises in response!
