Charles Jenkins Teams Up with Producer Warryn Campbell to Create "Winning"
Billboard Magazine No. 1, multi-award winning recording artist Charles Jenkins ("#WAR," "Awesome") has teamed up with Grammy® Award winning producer Warryn Campbell (Kanye West, R. Kelly, Mary Mary, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson) to create a fresh new, ear-to-the-ground track, "Winning," that is inspiring people to post #Handsup selfies all over cyberspace.
"I wanted to lift people up with a different sound and spread some #positiveair on the the radio airwaves and social media," says Jenkins who is pastor of Fellowship Chicago, a historic church in Chicago, IL. "There's so much bad news, pain, negativity, violence and hopelessness in the world right now that we just wanted to send out some encouragement and remind everyone that they can win and be upbeat in this thing called life."
The inspiring head-bopper releases to digital service providers such as the iTunes Store (http://smarturl.it/ox1fdv) and Amazon MP3 on July 22nd via a newly signed distribution agreement with Empire, a San Francisco-based company boasting a catalogue by A-list Hip Hop acts such as T.I., Anderson .Paak, Snoop Dogg, Jamaican DJ Popcaan and R&B recording artist Lloyd. Empire's "All The Way Up" by Fat Joe, Remy Ma & Jay Z ft. French Montana & Infared hit No. 2 on Billboard's Rap Airplay chart a few weeks ago. "Winning" is the first single from Jenkins' forthcoming album "Think About These Things" that will permeate the culture this fall.
The St. Petersburg, FL native and staple Chicago resident burst on the international music scene in 2012 when his debut mega-hit with Fellowship Chicago, "Awesome," reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard Magazine's Gospel Airplay chart and stayed there for 22 weeks. In 2014, he followed up with the smash "#WAR" that also hit No. 1 on the Gospel Airplay chart and was cited as the most played and most streamed gospel song of 2015 on Billboard's end-of-the-year chart. Jenkins is currently touring the US with the McDonald's Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour that closes at the Taste of Soul Family Festival in Los Angeles on October 15th.
