Ryan Stevenson's "Eye of the Storm" Stays at the Top for the 12th Week

Gotee Records' Ryan Stevenson continues to impact listeners with his multi-platform, hit single, "Eye of the Storm (featuring GabeReal)," which remains at No. 1 on the Billboard / Mediabase AC Chart for the chart-breaking 12th consecutive week. This milestone breaks the record for the year of 11 weeks at No. 1 surpassing Casting Crowns' "Just Be Held" and Lauren Daigle's "Trust In You." Stevenson's song also made label history earlier this summer as the first single to go No.1 at the Billboard's National Christian Audience (NCA) and Mediabase Christian Audience charts for indie label Gotee Records. Radio stations continue to see the impact that the song is having on listeners as it is an anthem for hope during a difficult time.
"It's been a rough year economically for many in Houston as 70,000 people have lost good paying jobs in the oil and gas industry," shares Troy West, Music Director and Assistant Program Director at Houston's KSBJ station. "KSBJ knew that we had to be there to bring hope and healing. Ryan's song came out at the same time and really served as our anthem to let people know that God was still in control, that He was still the anchor and His love still surrounded them. The song rocketed to the top of KSBJ's testing and stayed as the No. 1 testing song week after week."
The breakout single has taken over the digital world with more than 7.6 million spins on Pandora, more than 1.6 million streams on Spotify and it has crossed the two million mark on YouTube. This encouraging song is from Stevenson's 2015 release Fresh Start, which is now available at Christian retail stores. The retail version of the album features two bonus tracks; the Top 25 hit "Holding Nothing Back" and the radio version of "Eye of the Storm."
Stevenson is currently on the Newsboys' "Love Riot Tour" this fall hitting more than 40 cities around the country. It was also announced last week that he will be on TobyMac's 2017 "Hits Deep Tour." He will follow-up that tour joining the Jesus Freak Cruise reuniting dcTalk as well as featuring TobyMac and DiverseCity, Newsboys, Kevin Max and label-mates Finding Favour, Capital Kings and Hollyn. Check out the fall tour dates here.
ABOUT RYAN STEVENSON:
Following a seven-year stint as a paramedic, Ryan Stevenson signed an exclusive agreement with Gotee Records in 2013 after capturing TobyMac's attention. His first recording for the label was the Holding Nothing Back EP in 2014, followed by 2015's full-length Fresh Start, which has produced the No. 1 radio single "Eye of the Storm," which charted at the top of six charts including the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart, and Top 25 single "Holding Nothing Back." His Gotee LP release came on the heels of a slew of awards few artists achieve in their entire career, much less before their first release. With three No. 1 singles (two as an artist and one as a co-writer), a GRAMMY® nomination, ASCAP honors and major tour bills with the likes of TobyMac, Newsboys and Matt Maher, among others, Ryan has already distinguished himself as a rare talent whose unique perspective guides his honest lyrics and sonic sensibilities. This Pacific Northwest native is a husband and father of two boys.
