Stacy Lugo Celebrates the Joy of Jesus with "Live My Life"
A unique mixture of contemporary Christian, R&B and dance music is what new artist Stacy Lugo brings to the gospel music community. Stacy, who released her 'Seasons' album in 2013, is now releasing a new single 'Live My Life' sure to get your body praising! Once again the message is "how can we expect to live without JESUS!"
Perhaps it was being raised in a home filled with the love of both God and music that inspired Stacy, at the young age of 11, to choose this path. "Mom always took us to church, gospel musicals or church related functions and dad sang in a rhythm and blues group, so the exposure to both sacred and secular music helped me to gain a deeper appreciation of my talent and the art."
Aside from her father's musical influence she was also inspired by CeCe Winans, Amy Grant, and Dolly Parton. She recalls as a young girl standing in her bedroom trying to imitate the voices of Roberta Flack and Barbara Streisand.
"At home we listened to everything from jazz to blues to pop to country" she said. "There were so many different artists to study and so many styles to master and I wanted to master them all."
At age 11 Stacy took her music literally into the streets, singing on the corner with friends as well as participating in school and church choirs. Stacy Lugo was on the club scene in the late 80's with a #7 on Bill Board Magazine called "Let Me Be Your Angel Girl" on NuSounds Records. A worship leader for 23 years with Faith Alive Ministries and Promise Christian Ministries in New York, Lugo has ripened into a seasoned vocalist and songwriter and is ready to inspire the world.
Stacy's upbringing and love of all types of music played a role when it came to writing for her album "For You" that debuted in 2002. With a blend of uplifting worship ballads and inspirational dance songs, "For You" showcases her versatile style with a collection of self-penned songs that will not only move the soul but also the body. And she can assure you there is definitely a piece of Jesus in every beat.
Stacy was born in Queens, NY, raised further out east on Long Island, and currently resides in Tampa FL.
