Apple Gives Refresher Updates for the MacBook Pro Lineup! Better Specs Including Faster Processors Bigger while Lowering Price Tags for the Flagships
Good news for Apple clients as they announced today that they are launching a series of updates that go to the cheapest line of the MacBook Pro devices. These updates are mainly focused on upgrading the processor speed as well as the memory space of the concerned devices. The updates come at the time when apple is focusing on releasing the new operating system OS X in the fall this year. The update for those who do not yet know is called Yosemite and is still going through Beta testing phases at the present.
The updates for the MacBook Pro devices include high-resolution Retina display. As for the processor speed, the updates will be a 2.6 GHz Intel dual-core i5 up from the previous 2.4 GHz. The RAM is set up to go to 8 MB up from the previous 4 MB. What a way to market. It is paying off because Apple sales recorded a third quarter earning of 5.5 billion dollars which went up from 4.8 billion the year earlier. Apparently they shipped a record 4.4 million units for this season which is a record even by their standards. The Retina MacBook Pro refresh for 2014 received a standard upgrade of the specs across the board with the Ram being doubled for the 13-inch and 15-inch devices.
When it comes to pricing, the tech giant either decreased the price or it stayed the same regardless of the specs that had been included for the set. For example, the 13-inch MacBook Pro received a price decline from $1,199 to $1,099. The 15-inch model, which is more expensive, has had its price lowered from $2,599 to $2,499. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina display which is the popular version retains the normal price tag of $1,299 and 128 GB of flash storage capabilities. There is a higher end version which has a price tag of 1,499 but it will retain the same configurations with a doubled storage capability of 256 GB SSD space.
