Regina Vandereijk Combines Appalachian Folk with Pop-Rock Edge on "The Lord Is There"

From her origins in the misty peaks of North Carolina's Appalachian Mountains to her current home along the picturesque canals of Gouda, Netherlands, singer-songwriter Regina Vandereijk has crafted a debut album that is both profoundly intimate and spiritually resonant. The Lord Is There is a masterful fusion of Southern Appalachian folk and gospel with a modern pop-rock edge-a reflection of Regina's roots, faith, and life story.
Grounded in Biblical inspiration and her walk with God, Regina's music is more than a collection of songs-it's a heartfelt invitation to reflect, connect, and grow. Every track, from its soaring melodies to its soul-stirring lyrics, reflects the command of Ephesians 5:19: 'sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.'
"This album holds pieces of my testimony," says Regina. "It's a journey through Scripture and my own life-exploring the depth of God's mercy, the power of His love, and the hope we have in Him."
At the heart of the album are stories that cut to the core. The achingly beautiful Wake Up Boy tackles themes of repentance and redemption, offering a raw yet hopeful perspective on human frailty and God's grace. Meanwhile, Two Become One serves as a dual metaphor: a tender depiction of a wedding dance between Jesus and His Church and a heartfelt reflection on Regina's marital journey and struggles with infertility.
Raised in a family of artists in North Carolina, Regina's creative roots run deep. Her upbringing fostered a love for storytelling, a passion that shines in her music. Now, she channels her artistry into songs that entertain, challenge, and uplift-designed to guide listeners toward Jesus and encourage spiritual growth. The Lord Is There takes the listener on a profound journey through the Bible. Across ten tracks, the story unfolds from the beginning: God created mankind to seek and find Him. Yet, humanity fell into sin, becoming enemies of God. God calls us to turn away from sin in His boundless grace and invites us to embrace Him, where forgiveness and peace are found through Jesus Christ-God made flesh. He came to die for our sins and rose after three days, conquering sin, death, and hell in the process.
More than music, this project serves a mission. With devotionals inspired by each song, Regina aims to draw listeners closer to Jesus and offer peace in an uncertain world. Jesus promises the power to overcome, found in intimacy with God. He calls us to share His work in our lives and prepare others for His return to judge the living and the dead.
"The Sound of the Bride-what does she sound like? What does she look like?" Regina reflects. "I'm just a piece of that Sound, but I'm calling out to other musicians and artists to walk in Word and Spirit, side by side, as we travel to our eternal home. We are strangers in this world, but a cloud of witnesses surrounds us-fellow sojourners in the Family of God. Together, we hold to the faith, because He who promised is faithful. This music is a call to prepare and a warning. Jesus said He is coming back, and told us to be ready."
The album's title, The Lord Is There, is inspired by the final verse of Ezekiel, where 'Yahweh Shammah' signifies the reign of Jesus in the new heaven and earth.
With The Lord Is There, Regina Vandereijk has delivered more than a debut-it's a declaration. Bold, unapologetic, and deeply moving, this album invites us all to listen closely, reflect deeply, and prepare our hearts for what's to come.
