Montell Jordan, 'You Are,' Featuring Chris August, Music Video Released
Montell Jordan, Christian R & B musician, released his official music video of the song 'You Are,' featuring Chris August, this week.
The original song was released in November, 2011, according to Amazon and iTunes. It has since gained popularity through the video released and will be added to radio as of May 31, according toJesusfreakhideout.
The song had its radio debut on May 24 in the morning on Kevin & Taylor's Atlanta powerhouse Christian station, The Fish, according to FamilyChristian.com. It is the second single to be released from Jordon's upcoming CCM album, 'Shake Heaven,' and has become one of Jordan's favorite songs from his current project. It was co-written by Jordan and his teenage daughter, Sydney.
"Personally, I feel You Are is one of the top three songs I have written in my career," Jordan said, according toFamilyChristian. "I wrote a pop love song to my wife nearly 10 years ago and with a rewrite it has become a timeless new love song to God, expressing how a redirected life can become a resurrected one. And working with Chris on the song and video, it reconciles cultures and brings a fresh new collaboration to Christian radio, while at the same time it rekindles the love between man and God as well."
The music video is family themed with strong Christian undertones. It features Jordan and a group of other people sharing family photos of their family members and loved ones. The refrain states, "I wanna know, I wanna what love is so I'll keep trying to describe what it feels like to walk and talk and live just like Christ. You're the only one who can save my life, I am yours and God you are mine. I see love in everything you do, You are love and love is You."
The two vocalists blend very well with one another to create a smooth-feeling soulful song that communicates a great Christian message.
The music video was released on May 27, when Jordan tweeted a link to the YouTube video saying, "You Are -- Montell Jordan with Chris August (Official Music Video)"
On May 28, Chris August tweeted, " Still can't believe I got to record a song with @montelljordan! Now I can't believe the music video is out! http://youtu.be/06sLGiMrWlw #YouAre"
