Gold City's First Album of Hymns in 15 Years

Southern Gospel legend Gold City will be releasing their brand new album "Hymn Revival" on August 19, 2014. Released through New Haven Records, the album features the band's rendition of inspirational classics such as "In Christ Alone" and "The Power of the Cross" in addition to such traditional hymns as "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "I Need Thee Every Hour."
This is their first hymn project in 15 years. "Hymn Revival," co-produced by Gold City's Danny Riley and multiple Academy of Country Music award-winning artist and musician, Gordon Mote, combines both a musical freshness and lyrical timelessness that appeals to today's broad gospel and inspirational fan-base. Gold City Quartet:Gold City is one of America's premiere gospel vocal groups. Haling from Gadsden, AL, the legendary group has won more than 60 Singing News Fan Awards, recorded over 40 projects, been touring for more than 33 years, and won multiple Dove Awards.
News of the record's release was dampened by the late-breaking health issues of Gold City's co-founder and award-winning bass singer, Tim Riley, who was sidelined by a mild stroke he experienced in Lawrenceburg, TN in late July. Danny Riley comments, "Dad is in good hands and receiving great care. In fact, he is going home on Thursday, August 14 and we are hoping for a full recovery. In the meantime, these great hymns have brought us comfort and confidence-as they have for believers down through the centuries."
Ken Harding, New Haven's president, concurs, "Gold City is one of Southern Gospel's most beloved groups and Tim Riley has been its foundation-both musically and otherwise-for more than three decades. We are honored to call them "family." Our prayers and wishes go out to Tim, his family and the whole group as he continues to recover."
