The Woman in Black Sequel: Jeremy Irvine Topbills, Set 40 Years After the First Film
"She never forgives. She never forgets. She never left."
The Woman in Black: Angel of Death releases its first teaser trailer that shows an old and deserted house during a thunderous, rainy day. It then follows a shadowy figure; Eve, a young teacher played by Phoebe Fox walking down a darkened corridor. She opens a door and sees an empty rocking chair, with a creepy doll and then a skull flashes on the screen.
The gothic horror sequel doesn't have Daniel Radcliffe this time, instead it stars "War Horse" actor Jeremy Irvine as Harry Burnstow.
The story is set in London, 40 years after the events of the first film. During the London Blitz in the 1940s, air raids continue and a group of school children are evacuated along with their school teacher Eve. They are taken to Eel Marsh House, an old and empty estate located at the English countryside far away from the chaos of war. The horror of the Woman in Black starts when the children begin to act mysteriously. Eve finds help with military commander Harry to confront the Woman in Black and save the children.
The first film that was released in 2012 was so successful, becoming the UK's highest-grossing horror film in 20 years. Taking in $33 million in the UK and over $120 million worldwide.
It was adapted from Susan Hill's 1983 ghost story novel of the same name and starred Daniel Radcliffe, his very first role after the Harry Potter franchise wrapped up in 2011. It follows the story of young lawyer Arthur Kipps, played by Radcliffe as he travels to the Eel Marsh House to organize some papers of a recently-deceased client.
Other cast includes, Helen McCrory, Adrian Rawlins, Oaklee Pendergast, Ned Dennehy, Leanne Best as the Woman in Black and more, with direction from Tom Harper.
The sequel is based on an original story by Susan Hill, who also wrote the screenplay with Jon Croker. The movie opens in UK cinemas on Feb. 13, 2015.
Is it going to be better than the first one? Check out the trailer.
