Marvel's Agent Carter TV Show Cast, News, Spoilers, and Updates: Marvel Announces New Cast Members
Marvel just announced 2 big casting news for their upcoming TV series Agent Carter.
Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) and Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse) were reported to have joined the cast. Murray will portray Agent Jack Thompson and Gjokaj will portray Agent David Sousa. Both of whom will meet Agent Carter while she takes a new role at the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) in New York.
Agent Sousa was described by Deadline as "sweet and honorable Agent Daniel Sousa, a true war hero who has risked his life many times - resulting once in a crippling leg injury." And according to a report by Film Divider Sousa is "a war hero who walks using a leg brace, but finds dealing with office politics to be harder than working around his injury. Sousa is also a fiercely honourable, gentle man and we're betting he becomes one of Peggy's major allies."
The Marvel website gave the official synopsis of the show as "Marvel's Agent Carter, starring "Captain America's" Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers."
The show will serve as somewhat of an origin story for the fictional government association S.H.I.E.L.D. which is widely known as the same organization that brought together The Avengers with Nick Fury serving as director. In Agent Carter Howard Stark, Tony Stark's father, will be a key character to the plot as he is known to be one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. along with Peggy Carter.
The show is was officially ordered on May 8, 2014 and is reported to premiere sometime in early 2015 during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s season break for at least 10 episodes on ABC.
