The 2014 US Open finals were held Sunday afternoon in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Serena Williams was playing for history as she went up against Caroline Wozniacki in the women's singles final.

This was a monumental win for Williams as it gave her Grand Slam win number 18 which puts her in legendary company as she tied Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova with 18 Grand Slam singles titles.
"It was a pleasure to win my first Grand Slam here and now No. 18," said Williams after the finals match.
Wozniacki spoke affectionately about Williams after the match. "You're an unbelievable champion and an inspiration to me on and off the court," Wozniacki shared, adding, "You definitely owe drinks later."
