Dracula is an 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker. The novel is famous for introducing the character Count Dracula and possibly the legend he has become. It tells the story of Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England, and the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and women led by the brilliant hunter Professor Abraham Van Helsing. Since its creation, the concept of Dracula has been assigned too many literary genres including Vampire literature, horror fiction, the gothic novel and invasion literature. The novel also touches on themes such as the role of women in Victorian culture, sexual conventions, immigration, colonialism and post colonialism. Stoker did not invent the vampire that much we all know but instead he attempted to define their modern form in his novel instalments.
Bram Stoker's famous vampire book "Dracula" is possibly based on the 15th-Century Romanian Prince Vlad Dracula III, known as Vlad Teps and the Impaler. The film is set in the 1400s, Romania during the Turkish invasion of the Christian regions of England as Vlad (Luke Evans) goes to the greatest of lengths to fight for his homeland that he gladly refers to as his family. Due to his love for his family, Vlad willingly gives up his soul for great power with which he would be able to protect his family against the invasion by Muslims. Due to this decision, Vlad becomes forever doomed as creature of the night. The film is highly anticipated not only because of the epic storyline but the great graphics and presence of the brilliant actor Luke Evans too.
