Orphan Black Season 3 Spoilers: Ten Episodes for Spring 2015
Filming of "Orphan Black" season 3 has just recently started. The show was highly considered one of the most successful TV series after garnering a number of awards. This is why the renewal of the whole show did not come as a surprise. The first two seasons did more than what is expected. In fact, according to BBC America, "Orphan Black" is the first ever ad-supported drama to double its audience between season 1 and 2.
The next season is expected to air in the spring of 2015. According to reports, as per confirmed by BBC America General Manager Perry Simons, the season will comprise 10 episodes. Tatiana Maslany returns to reprise her role as the main character along with her multiple clones.
Tatiana Maslany, who won the 2014 Critics Choice Awards for Best Actress in a drama series because of her performance in the show, has all the praises for the whole show. According to her, playing Sarah Manning and all her clones is difficult and fulfilling. The complexity of the whole thing is what led her to sign up for the role in the first place. It basically draw out her full array of acting skills, as each character is, according to her "very original and develops well". She further added that for her, the highlight of her multiple characters is the use of different accents as it truly stretches her acting skills.
It's already difficult enough to internalize and transform oneself to reflect that of the character. How much more if you will be doing that for a number of characters that are each unique from each other. It is no wonder that Tatiana Maslany earned her reward as well as respect of her co-workers.
Maslany was just grateful that a role such as this exists for a woman. She finds it fulfilling enough that she is part of a show that needs not have its main character take off clothes just to attract viewers. "Orphan Black" presents a unique story where each character is complex and difficult to portray. Maslany hopes that shows like this will be continuously produced and will finally make it in mainstream television.
