Covert Affairs Season 5 Spoilers, Reveals, Rumors, Updates and Plot: Aleksandre Belenko Responsible for Chicago Bombings?
The USA network show premiered in July of 2010 and was renewed for a fifth season on October 3rd, 2013. Covert Affairs is about CIA trainee Annie Walker who has been through a lot after the firm in the form of her first mission which acted as training basically. Now she has been deployed to work in the Domestic Protection Division as a field operative. Her cover for her sister is a Smithsonian Museum employee which is later changed to importer/exporter in season four probably to give her the poise to move freely in and out of the country without people close to her asking to many questions. At the moment there is still little information concerning the plot of season five but after the release of the trailer the shows bosses were feeling a little chatty with Entertainment Weekly and were willing to let people in on what to expect in season five.
Of course everyone wants to know about the Chicago bombings. Most people are pinning the blame on Aleksandre Belenko. Apparently no one, from the show runner to the actors are willing to admit that he is the one, but it is clear that is going to be in the series for a few more episodes at least. There are rumors within the plot of a twist expected when Belenko reveals the identity of the target that was missed. The show bosses have intimated that when this information is revealed it will greatly affect the shows plotline and direction. The cast is expected to remain greatly unchanged in the third season with all major twists and turns occurring in the plot. Covert Affairs has reduced in viewership numbers and is no doubt looking to bring back their glory days with an action packed season five.
