12-Inch Macbook Air Retina Release Date, Rumors: Design & Innovation at Play
The release of a 12-inch Macbook Air has been in the grapevine for some time now. The official release however has been pegged to be somewhere within the coming year, 2015.
The design of the upcoming machine is nothing less than revolutionary. First to note is that apple has done away with moving parts completely, no spinning discs and no fan. The introduction of the new and recently developed Intel Core M chipsets into Apple architecture will bring a chip that does not require cooling as it automatically discharges heat. This makes having a fan double-kill, which we know for a fact won't happen, rather Apple bloggers are speculating that the space may be used to fit a larger battery, making us wish we could experience the longer battery life that that causes.
Apple is rumored to have removed the buttons on the track pad, opting for the more advanced sensor technology to control navigation and use, much should be noticed in as far as user experience is concerned and we hope it is all for the better.
As the name suggests, the screen will have smaller dimensions, falling into the 12-inch category. This will have great convenience for the users who have to lunge the device with them everywhere they go. The weight has also been reduced, not to say previous versions were any heavier, but with the new chip causing fan removal, noted change in mass should come with the advantage.
As with the previously released iPhones, users speculate that the new Air will come in three distinct color sets. Gold, Space Grey and the one we are accustomed to, silver/aluminum (this is subject to your eye sight).
For such innovation, the opening price has had many analysts knocking their heads. With the 13 inch Macbook Air and Pro having started off at a range of GBP 1,200 to GBP 1,500; the next offer should be well below these figures as it has been figured that the main reason why they are offering smaller versions with such features might well be to target the gap market and have more users hugging onto the apple revolution.
