Samsung Galaxy A5 Release Date, Specs, Features, Price: the Korean tech giant is planning to release a Galaxy A line that takes reference from the Galaxy Alpha's design sensibilities
Samsung firmware and upcoming hardware tracking site SamMobile has the inside scoop that the Korean tech giant is planning to release a Galaxy A line that takes reference from the Galaxy Alpha's design sensibilities. Samsung is working on an entirely new series of midrange smartphones that will have the same premium design footsteps as the aluminum-framed Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy A series will consist of three smartphones; Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7.
Let's just have a look at the specifications of Samsung Galaxy A5:
The pictures confirm that the Galaxy A5 will look nearly identical to the Galaxy Alpha and include its aluminum frame with chamfered edges. A metal frame and a sleek design, is being marketed to the more fashion conscious crowd.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 will reportedly feature a 5-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display and run Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The smartphone will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and have 2 GB of RAM. It will ship with 16 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot.
The Galaxy A5's camera capabilities will consist of a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies. The smartphone will ship with a 2,300 mAh battery. The device measures in at 5.48 x 2.74 x 0.26 inches (139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm). The Galaxy A5 is rumored to cost $400 off-contract when its released.
Among the three devices, A7 is said to be the costliest with a price expected to range between $450 and $500 (around €353-€392) and due its high price, Samsung has reportedly planned to release Alpha A7 in limited regions. On the other hand, Alpha A3 is expected to fall in the mid-range category with price ranging between $350 and $400 (around €275-315), whereas the A5 is said to be priced north of $400 (more than €315).
SamMobile notes that all three devices should be released in third quarter of 2014. After knowing the specs and design of Galaxy A5 it would be difficult to wait for long so let's hope that the company releases the handset as early as possible.
