The latest Sony Z series extension Z3 has been on the radar soon after its appearance in September 2014 in Berlin. The smartphone has managed to achieve the attention of top phone enthusiasts. The predecessor of the Z3 was released about six months ago. Let's have a quick review what changes has been brought in the Xperia Z2 successor Xperia Z3.

The Xperia Z2 has giant 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The pixel density is impressive with 424 pixels per inch. The display type is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with shatterproof glass protection. The successor Xperia Z3 has similar type of display and resolution specification.

Both of them possess same screen resolution with the same display size even the pixel density remains 424 ppi for Xperia Z3. Both the devices are provided with X-Reality Engine and Triluminos display that makes the display videos or images more alive with perfect color toning

There have been two additions in the feature list, which were not available Xperia Z2. The new Xperia Z3 has provision for PS4 owners to play PS4 compatible games in the Xperia Z3. It works much like PS Vita. The Wi-Fi connectivity system is used to stream the display in the smartphone.

Dual Shock 4 game controller can be directly added to the smartphone for easy plug and play. Another addition is the high quality audio feature. The Xperia Z3 is the first smartphone that supports DSD playback system.

The camera segment also remains the same with 20.7MP rear camera and 2.2MP front camera. Features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama, face detection, LED flash are available in both the devices. The front camera can record videos of 2160p, 1080p, 720p respectively at 30fps, 60fps, and 120fps.

The hardware specification is led by the latest Xperia Z3 as expected but the margin is very little and associated with the processor clock speed. The Xperia Z2 still has powerful hardware configuration with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with Quad-Core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor while Xperia Z3 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with Quad-Core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor.

Both the devices have Adreno 330 GPU. Xperia Z2 runs on Android version 4.4.2 KitKat while the Xperia Z3 has operating system Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
