'Apple Pay' Launching Monday; Starbucks, Panera Bread, McDonalds, Macy's And Other Big Stores Are Supporting It
Apple Pay will be launched few hours from now according to the Mac Rumors, and people are already predicting that this app has the capability to transform the way we pay for store purchases, aside from what we have been used to securing our online purchases.
Apple Pay is a brand new system for mobile payment exclusive for Apple products such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The owners of these phones will have the opportunity to save debit card, bank card, and credit card with Apple's newest secure online storage, according to the Tech Times. They can now use this to pay for items at retail stores all over the US. The users could also switch from card to card before making final purchases.
The list of retail stores which will support this newest payment scheme include big companies that have hundreds of chains such as Subway, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and McDonalds. Numerous shops and restaurants are now integrating this system into their own payment schemes as an option for credit or payment source. Panera Bread, Staples, and Starbucks Coffee have also released a statement that their customers can now pay for their credits through online or digital transactions. Hence, it would appear that they are integrating this to their own system too.
Customers of Panera bread can make use of Apple Pay with the café's Panera 2.0 or if they want, the company's mobile app, which is already synced with the in-store system. For instance, when you are inside Panera, you could pay for your items using Apple Pay through opening the app at iOS. They can also pick their meals and checkout through the same system.
Starbucks customers, Apple Pay is already integrated with the chain's card system. Technically, you can order a latte through the Apple Pay, but you can also recharge your card and utilize it to purchase your favorite coffee beverage.
With online purchases, on the other hand, it is worth sharing that the new models of iPads, iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 also support the Apple Pay but for mobile or in-app purchases only.
In other words, you can recharge a Starbucks card with the use of the Starbucks iOS app or purchase bread at Panera with the use of iPad for as long as you've registered your card.
