HTC One Max vs Samsung Galaxy Mega 2: The Face-off, of the Gigantic Phones

HTC One Max vs Samsung Galaxy Mega 2: The Face-off, of the Gigantic Phones
Aside from the usual Android smartphones and iPhone comparisons, there is also big competition in the Android world itself.
Samsung, one of the leading smartphone giants, have recently launched the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2.
Meanwhile, HTC, another technology giant, also released a gigantic Android smartphone named HTC One Max.
According to CNET, the HTC One Max's display screen measures 5.9 inches, but with only a 1920 x 1080 pixels high definition resolution with a pixel density of 367 ppi.
It's a close call with the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2's 6 inch display. However, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 only has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution (720p), according to BusinessNewsDaily.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 runs the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and customized with the company's own TouchWiz user interface, while the HTC One Max only runs the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The specification sheet from GSMArena shows that the HTC One Max only has a 4 Megapixel camera, which is considerably low compared to the high quality cameras other smartphones. But, the review from CNET says that there are a number of useful and interesting camera features for the HTC One Max such as the Anti-shake, Sweep Panorama and even an HDR mode. The Dual capture feature uses the images from the rear and front camera to form one image. It can also capture 1080p HD videos.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, however, comes with an 8 Megapixel rear camera with a 5 Megapixel front camera. Even if it still quite low compared to others, it still beats the HTC One Max's camera.
In terms of performance, the HTC One Max carries a 1.7 GHZ Snapdragon 600, which is quite a disappointment, as it is the same as with the original HTC One. It also has a modest 2GB RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 also comes with a Snapdragon 600 chipset and 2GBs of RAM. It's a tie for both in performance terms.
Considering that both the phone is gigantic in size, battery is an important deciding factor. The HTC One Max wins with the 3,300 mAh battery capacity compared to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2's 2,800 mAh battery.
