'Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty' Update: On its Final Stage?
The exact release date of Just Add Water's "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty" versions for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Wii U is yet to be announced, but fortunately, EuroGamer offers a little update on the ongoing developments for each version.
A version for PC, Mac, and Linux can be played already, and it only needs certain finishing touches and can be released shortly. EuroGamer revealed statements from the developer saying that, "We're not quite finished with ensuring the game is fully optimised for all hardware, and have at least a couple of months left before release."
Versions for the PS3 and PS Vita proved difficult due to RAM constraints. Scrolling areas could be fragmented but developers firmly express that it should not affect the game design as well as the entertainment value of the game. Oddworld Inhabitants said that, "We're keen to have the PS3 version running smoothly at 720p and the PS Vita version at its native resolution, but this isn't without some degree of difficulty. We know PS3 and Vita owners are desperate to get their hands on the game, but please rest assured we're doing everything we can to make this happen to get it onto the PlayStation Store as soon as possible."
When it comes to the current-gen console Xbox One, Hard Core Gamer reported that it would be manageable and only minor difficulties will be encountered, considering that the game is still on its initial stage.
Difficulty is again encountered in the Wii U, but developers are determined to share "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty" to avid gamers of Nintendo. Storage space barriers on an 8GB 'Basic'Wii U Model was fairly resolved and feedbacks proved that it's not really a serious issue. Other technical aspects that are currently underway for PS3 and PS Vita turned out to be useful on Wii U version.
Although Oddworld Inhabitant has failed to reveal the specific date, their determination to have it onto the mentioned platforms soon remains strong. It is more than enough to assure video gamers that it's worth the long wait.
