NBA 2K15: 2K Sports Releases Patch To Fix MyPark, Face Scan, Freezing and Other Glitches
Game publisher 2K Sports on Friday announced the release of a patch for NBA 2K15 on PS4, XB1, and PC to address issues found following the October 7 launch of the NBA basketball simulation game. The publisher, in the announcement, enumerated the major fixes included in the patch, namely:
- Made a number of stability fixes to improve the quality of the MyPARK experience, and online as a whole.
- Improvements have been made to the face scanning experience. Please ensure you have plenty of balanced lighting (natural light is best) for best results
- The correct animation will now be shown in Edit Player when scrolling through the available list of animations.
- The correct animation will now be shown in Edit Player when scrolling through the available list of animations.
- Fixed a rare hang that would occur when changing the in-game language from the Options menu.
- Fixed an issue where the user who invited would sometimes hang at the conclusion of a playoff game in Online Leagues.
- Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where, in certain cases, the game would not allow the user to exceed 13 players during the free agency period of the offseason.
- Fixed a rare occurrence where Doris Burke would warp off the screen prior to an on-court interview with a player/coach.
- Addressed a number of locations where voice chat icons and Online IDs were not properly displayed during the online experience (PS4).
- Users are now able to re-watch 2KTV episodes that have already been watched to completion.
A week after the release date for PCs and game consoles, 2K Sports followed suit with the launch of a mobile version of the game according to an October 16 post on its Facebook page. The NBA 2K15 mobile version is now available for iOS-powered devices, including iPhone 5+, iPad 4+, and iPad mini2+, as well as for Amazon's Fire phone, Fire HDX 8.9", and Kindle Fire HDX tablets. The game will also be coming soon to Fire TV. The NBA 2K15 for the hand-held devices also features support for physical controllers although it already comes with an on-board virtual controller with three pre-set sizes to choose from. A new NBA 2K15 trailer on Youtube heralded the launch of the mobile version of the game. The release of NBA 2K15 for the iOS and Amazon mobile devices adds to game's platforms which already include PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. No mention however if there will also be a release of the game for Android-powered mobile devices in the future.
As already previously noted by Game Spot, the NBA 2K15 PC next gen release has more superior graphical fidelity than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. Of course, the minimum NBA 2K15 system requirements for the PC version include a Windows 7 64 bit or higher OS, an Intel Core2 Duo or better processor, 2 or more GB RAM, DirectX 10.1 compatible (512 MB) or better graphics, a Version 11 Direct X, 50 or more GB available hard-drive space, a 9.0c compatible sound card, and a keyboard or dual-analog gamepad. Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant is the NBA 2K15 cover athlete. The soundtrack for the game was curated by Pharrell Williams. The release of NBA 2K15 was generally well received by game critics and reviewers. The most notable complaint though has to do with online connection issues which by now should already be remedied with the updated patch.
