Sony 'PlayStation4' Ignites Gaming Experience With Its 2.0 Update
The big 2.0 update for the Sony console PlayStation 4 is finally here. The 2.0 firmware update for the said console, which is codenamed Masamune, throws in a bunch of amazing features to gamers.
The first feature for the update is the highly expected SharePlay, as per Engagdet. Interestingly, Shareplay allows the gamers to share the copy of a PS4 game with online friends who also own PlayStation Plus. Players can now pass the controller virtually if ever they need help. Sony calls this as a "virtual couch", since the consequential co-op gaming experience lets players to tackle game challenges together. The avatar can also be manipulated by players' friends who live far in a distance.
Additional features are a USB music player, players' capability to alter colors of the PS4 Dashboard, improvements to streaming, content organization, and voice commands, as per PlayStation Blog.
While playing a game, PlayStation4 players can play their own music using the USB Music Player, which supports filename extensions such as MP3, MP4, M4A and 3GP. The color of the home screen background can be modified from light blue to one of the following - red, green, blue, gold, gray, purple, and pink.
With the new 2.0 update, the console can now also suggest players whom you may know in its "What's New" section. In the Live From PlayStation application, PlayStation4 users can now choose a Featured channel, including official announcements from PlayStation, from the contacts in a player's friend list, and any channel that they player has followed. Filters for searching broadcasts on a certain game, as well as support for archived broadcasts, have been also integrated.
Meanwhile, YouTube released its app for Sony's PlayStation 4, according to YouTube Official Blog. With a size of 69.1MB, players can download it directly from the PlayStation store. Additionally, its release is concurrent with the 2.0 system update of the console. This integrated activity with YouTube allows gamers to upload their gameplay highlights from the PlayStation4 console. Players just have to click the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller. With the new application, gamers can now watch videos up to 1080 pixels and listen in 5.1 channel audio.
With its new 2.0 upgrade, Sony PlayStation4 raises its bar to provide players with a high-quality engaging gaming experience.
