U2 Cancels Week-Long Residency on 'The Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon Due to Bono Surgery (VIDEO)
U2 fans had been looking forward to watching their favorite band play on national television five straight nights, but they are going to have to wait.
U2 was scheduled to have a week long residency on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on NBC starting Monday night, November 17th, performing all five nights and maybe even joining in on a few sketches. However, singer Bono was in a recent cycling accident that required surgery and he is still resting and recovering.
Here is what the band's official message read:
"It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."
There's no official word yet on if or when U2 might reschedule their residency week "The Tonight Show" or who will be performing in their place this coming week.

U2 have released 13 studio albums, and are among the all-time best-selling music artists, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. They have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band; and, in 2005, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Rolling Stone ranked U2 at number 22 in its list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time", and labelled them the "Biggest Band in the World".
