American Idol Finalist Jeffrey Lampkin Releases Gospel Album
Season 7 American Finalist Jeffrey Lampkin has just released his brand new Gospel album JEFFREY LAMPKIN PRESENTS: FRANCIS MARION YGB GOSPEL CHOIR . Unveiled to a packed house of gospel choir enthusiasts on April 19, the award-winning choir director and nationally recognized Francis Marion University YGB Gospel Choir (formerly known as Young, Gifted, and Blessed Gospel Choir) thrilled with standout selections from their 13-track new release. Featuring guest appearances from fellow "American Idol" alum Michelle Lampkin-Robinson, BET "Sunday Best" finalistKristen Jamison, and production from super-producer Roosevelt Snoop McLamore, the album - written in its entirety by Jeffrey - shines as a modernized ode to the foundation of gospel music as we know it - choirs.
Reminiscent of top hits from the likes of Donald Lawrence, Hezekiah Walker, Walter Hawkins, and more, the release - with its soul-stirring tunes "Declaration of Praise," "My Day Is Coming," and the anthemic "Army of Christ," invites listeners on a musical journey set to take them to highs of encouragement, hope, and uncontainable worship. The best evidence of this "power choir" movement comes courtesy of the album's fiery, foot-stomping first single - the Kristen Jamison-led "Takin' It Back."
A "must hear" set of songs for all believers, the album will undoubtedly rejuvenate writers and composers to bring choir music back to the forefront of gospel music.
Join the movement! JEFFREY LAMPKIN PRESENTS: FRANCIS MARION YGB CHOIR is available for purchase now with proceeds helping to support a scholarship for a deserving choir member at Francis Marion University.
