Charles Butler & Trinity Participate in the Million Man March 20th Anniversary

Charles Butler & Trinity has become one of the most regarded gospel acts in the country. Their signature sound infuses traditional and contemporary gospel music which has afforded the Washington, DC, based group the opportunity to spread the message of God's infinite love to the world as performance participants along with a 100 voice multi-denominational choir at this past weekend's 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March in the nations capital.
Charles Butler & Trinity acted as the front line singers for the Million Man March.Min. Farrakhan requested the break-out hit song "Break Every Chain" (made popular by Grammy winner Tasha Cobbs), which was led by Stellar Award winning recording artist and BET's Sunday's Best winner Y'anna Crawley. The choir also sang "Total Praise" (penned by Gospel living legend Richard Smallwood) and Kurt Carr's "For Every Mountain" led by his member Lorraine Stancil.
Charles Butler along with Washington DC's Union Temple Baptist Church musical director Mike Scott helped with the campaign by putting together the 100 voices from different denominations to sing at the March for one purpose which is Justice.
"Getting the call to be a director for the Million Man march was overwhelming because 20 years ago when the March came to Washington, DC my Dad didn't allow me to attend the March," says Butler. "My dad feared that something might happen and 20 years later I (along with Mike Scott) helped put the music together." Butler adds, "One of the highlights of the March was seeing people from different backgrounds and religious beliefs sing "Break Every Chain". Our job is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all creation and that includes all denominations. We have done several high profile events and that one moment trumped them all".
Charles Butler & Trinity is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album with Grammy® nominated producer Daniel Weatherspoon (Donald Lawrence, VaShawn Mitchell, Karen Clark Sheard). The groups yet-titled effort is slated for a 2nd QTR 2016 release.
The groups debut CD BETTER was released nationally in July 2014 via Earnest Pugh's label EPM Music Group. The project debuted at #16 and peaked at #7 on Billboard's Top Gospel Album Sales Chart. The album received positive reviews and earned the virtuosos a 2015 Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination for Contemporary Choir of the Year. Since the groups commencement, they've shared the stage with prominent music artists, such as Kirk Franklin, Shirley Caesar, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett, Donald Lawrence, Kim Burrell, Michelle Williams, Bebe Winans, and a host of other talented entertainers. In addition, the group has performed on the WORD Network, TBN, and BET's Bobby Jones Gospel.
