The Voice's Runner-Up Emily Ann Roberts Grateful & Looks forward to Christmas

Though Emily Ann Roberts lost out to Jordan Smith at Season 9th's "The Voice," she is grateful for the experience. In fact, being on the singing show itself, broadcasted by NBC, is itself a winning experience for Roberts.
"I feel like a winner that a chair turned, and now that I'm in the Top 4, it's blowing my mind," the 17-year-old confides. "I truly feel that I have gone further than I ever would have gone. I am really happy for this experience."
Emily Ann Roberts was born on October 23, 1998, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Tommy and Kelly Roberts. She has an older sister named Abby. She is currently a junior at Karns High School, where she is from Karns, Tennessee.
During the Finals, all four remaining contestants sang two solo songs and one duet with their coach, the latter clearly being a highlight for Emily Ann, Barrett Baber, Jordan Smith and Jeffery Austin. "Blake is such an awesome mentor and just a friend," Emily gushed. "He has been such a friend to me. It is just crazy to be on stage with him and singing with him in a recording studio was really fun."
During the show, Roberts jammed on a mandolin and sang "Country Boy" with country musician Ricky Skaggs. Their duet earned a standing ovation from all four coaches. The other three finalists performed with celebrities including Usher, Tori Kelly and Wynonna Judd.
Emily Ann is getting ready to head back to her regular life in Tennessee. "I am really excited to sleep in my own bed, hang with my friends and go bowling," she dished. "I want to play cards. I just want to really do some normal stuff. It will be crazy because I am here and sheltered and have such a busy schedule. It will be so weird not having a certain schedule and to where I can pretty much do anything I want. I won't know when to brush my teeth or eat breakfast! So that will be crazy, but it will be great to be with my family during the holidays and slowly ease into everything! I am thankful that it is Christmas - it is such a time to have things slow down and have that family time that I have missed. I am looking forward to it."
