Louie Giglio Says of the New Passion Worship Album: "This Year it's a Little Different"
Pastor Louie Giglio is the pastor of Passion City Church in Atlanta and he is also the founder of the Passion Conference. Passion Conference is an annual Christian conference that brings together college and uniersity students together. The 2013 conference attracted as many as 30,000 young adults. As he is preparing for this year's conference, Pastor Giglio took some time to talk about the new Passion Worship album Salvation's Tide is Rising.
According to Giglio who spoke on the latest Passion Podcast, the recording of Salvation's Tide Is Rising was different than previous roll outs. "Normally at Passion, we always get to these arenas, fill them up with people, we record all of it and then we make a record. And we start right away making a record...But it still takes 2 or 3 months to get the record done, finished, mixed, mastered, uploaded to iTunes, and on iTunes. And so it's March or April before we are celebrating all the new songs we heard at a Passion event in January...This year it's a little different of a playbook and I love it. We have already recorded a Passion album!"
The Passion Movement and the messages of founder Louie Giglio have marked the lives of millions of people around the globe, calling people everywhere to live for the glory of God. Since the first release in 1998, Passion albums have sold over 1.4 million units while introducing the church to worship songs like "Our God,"' "Holy Is The Lord,"' "How Great Is Our God," and "God Of This City."
The new album features Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker, Melodie Malone, Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Matt Redman and Christy Nockels. "What a great message for the world. Salvation's tide is rising. We believe that's true. God's working all over the world right now," Giglio shared. Louie said that this album contains some of the "best songs" Passion has ever released.
If you want to see Passion live in concert, there is no better opportunity for college aged students than Passion 2016 occurring January 2-4 in Atlanta and Houston. Get your tickets to Passion 2016 here. All those attending are asked to bring a new towel and new socks to address a tangible need in the surrounding communities. Fans will also be encouraged to donate money to help Passion build a hospital for women and children in Syria. "We aren't fleeing from the need, we are actually leaning into the need," Giglio added.
