The Taylors Talk About Transitioning into a Trio & Their New Album "Hope and Healing"
Beginning April 16th, the popular family group will transition from a quartet to a trio for StowTown Records, comprised of brothers Jonathan and Chris along with sister Suzanne Taylor Hise. Leslie and her husband, Aaron, have answered the call to minister at Socastee Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. As a result, the newly-formed family trio and StowTown Records are excited to announce their new release of Hope and Healing, which is available at all digital and retail outlets world wide, through Provident-Sony Distribution.
So grateful for your time. Recently, the Taylors have transition from a quartet into a trio. What happened there?
Our sister, Leslie and her husband Aaron, are having their second child (a little girl) and Leslie has always felt the calling to be a stay at home mom once she started to have children. Aaron was offered a job in Myrtle Beach, SC as a music director and youth pastor at Socastee Baptist Church. So they felt the calling to love there and minister at that church. We are thrilled for them but will miss them greatly!
Are you looking for a replacement? Or are you staying as a trio?
We are not looking for a replacement. We feel that God has called us to transition to a trio and we are very excited about it!
Let's talk about your new album "Hope and Healing." Why did you entitle the album "Hope and Healing"?
The CD got it's title because most of the songs chosen had a certain theme to them, and that was hope and healing. Most of our CDs in the past have had a heaven theme and this new project still has that, but we wanted our audiences to be encouraged and realize there is still hope and healing in Jesus Christ.
What did you look out for when you were choosing a song to record?
We really weren't looking for anything other than our normal songs selections on previous albums. We believe the songs kind of chose us! The Lord definitely had His hand on this project!
I believe your grandfather passed away in the process of making this album. We are so sorry to hear about this. Were there any specific songs on the new record that ministered to you in your time of loss?
There is a song entitled, "Somebody's Praying" that really touched us while our grandfather was transitioning from his earthly home to his heavenly home. We were in the middle of choosing songs while he was in his last week with us. We were able to go sing this song by his bedside and it truly touched and comforted all of us in the room, including him.
What's the first single released off this new record? Tell us more about the single.
He Won't Fail You. Wayne Haun wrote this song and it's about the biblical figures that God delivered in their times of need. The song reveals that he won't fail providing for our needs just like Daniel in the Lion's den or Noah on the ocean blue. He is the same God today as he was yesterday!
Through your own experience with suffering and healing, what words of encouragement do you have for some of our readers who are hurting now?
It is our greatest desire that people would walk away from hearing these songs with hope. With a renewed since of healing. Realizing that God is in control even when we feel like everything is falling apart. We have faced these same hopeless situations and we want people to know that it hurts and it takes time to heal, but it's coming. Because as believers in Jesus Christ, He promised it would. So hold on and keep your head held high because God's got big plans for you!
