Country Music Artist Trae Edwards Responds to Orlando Tragedies and Terror Attack with New Single
In response to the tragedies in Orlando this week, Country music recording artist Trae Edwards has released the inspirational new single, "Love Got Us Through" (Breezewood Productions). The song is available now at BreezewoodProductions.com, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal, Spotify and more, and will be available soon at iTunes.
"Love Got Us Through" was one of several songs being worked on for an upcoming album project, but Edwards felt like the song was something special. On the same day as the Pulse Nightclub attack in Orlando, the mastered version was completed, and Edwards suddenly understood its purpose.
"I was watching the news, and they were interviewing one of the survivors," says Edwards. "His partner survived, and he blamed himself, stating that they could have easily just stayed home that night." That statement perfectly lined up with the first two lines of the song:
If you would've known
You'd never left home
Then today your name
Would not be written in stone
The song then goes on to describe the aftermath that friends and family of the victims are feeling today. Edwards hopes that the inspirational song provides comfort to those that are grieving, and hope that better days are ahead.
"We knew that this song was something special, although we could never have imagined this," says Edwards. "My thoughts and prayers are with those that are hurting, and with this nation that needs to be united. At the end of the day, we must hold up our heads and trust that Love will indeed get us through."
"Love Got Us Through" was written by Kati Hendricks, Olivia Bey, Laura Duksta, Geron Davis and Trae Edwards.
Edwards first stepped into the spotlight with his 2013 debut album, "I Believed," and followed that up in 2015 with the VOICES project (which he co-produced), featuring performances by Edwards as well as Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Joe Bonsall of Oak Ridge Boys, Michael English, "American Idol" winner Bo Bice, William Lee Golden of Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Judy Martin Hess, Timothy Moore, Phil Keaggy, Woody Wright and Joy Gardner. He has shared the stage with such country greats as Alison Krauss, Naomi Judd, Wynonna, Trace Adkins, Joe Diffee, Tracey Lawrence, Ricky Skaggs and many others. He can also be found on several of the top-selling Gaither "Homecoming" Series video and DVD releases.
