Two of the biggest voices of country music and Christian music join together for a powerhouse performance at the 2017 ACM Awards yesterday. Reba McEntire brought the house down with Lauren Daigle as they sang together Reba's latest single "Back to God." The 2017 ACM Awards took place in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 2.
For the performamce Daigle donned a beautiful floor-length red gown, while McEntire rocked an equally gorgeous beige dress. The crowd was captivted by the dynamic performance. Ronnie Dunn in introducing Reba McEntire and Lauren Daigle said that spiritual and gospel music plays "a really big part in what we do in our genre" before dubbing his friend "the queen of country music."
"Back to God" serves as the lead single off of McEntire's debut gospel album Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. With "Back To God," Reba revealed details about her influences, upbringing and lifelong help from her guardian angels. Her latest album is a double-disc project highlights traditional hymns of "faith" throughout the first 10 songs while more contemporary tracks of "hope" round out the back half.
" SING IT NOW was the perfect title for this album because the message and melody throughout the song connects the dots between the traditional hymns I grew up on and new music that has been uplifting for me in challenging times," said Reba.
