Kurt Carr, Jekalyn Carr, Anthony Brown & group therAPy and Vashawn Mitchell to Perform at the 2ND ANNUAL MUSICAL SOUL FOOD FESTIVAL

Over 12,000 people showed up for last year's inaugural Musical Soul Food Festival and organizers are anticipating another strong crowd for the second annual event that takes place Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the sixty-acre Chesapeake City Park, 900 City Park Drive in Chesapeake, VA 23320. Admission is FREE.
Grammy® Award winning recording artist and media personality, Dr. Bobby Jones, who hosted "Bobby Jones Gospel" on the BET cable TV channel for 35 years, will emcee the program. This year, the festival will honor legendary choirmaster and recording artist, Kurt Carr, for his thirty-plus year career in music that features hits such as "For Every Mountain," "God Blocked It" and the gold-selling album, "In the Sanctuary."
The star-studded concert line-up features performances from Anthony Brown & group therAPy, Jekalyn Carr, Luther Barnes, Vashawn Mitchell, Earnest Pugh, Chrystal Rucker, Troy Sneed, Damon Little, The Virginia Aires, Earl Bynum, Ruth La'Ontra and Zion's Joy. Musical Soul Food on-air personalities such as Dorinda Clark Cole, Melvin Williams, Dottie Peoples and Tracy Morgan will be on hand as well.
There's also a new emphasis on social media coverage this year, so Stellar Gospel Music Award nominated singer Bryan Andrew Wilson will be on site to provide on-camera social media updates and interviews with various artists and festival participants.
Aside from a full day of great inspirational music, there will be a wide-gamut of fun activities ranging from basketball challenges, volleyball, Zumba, line-dancing, fitness aerobics in the We-Fit Zone, food vendors and more. The festival is made possible with the support of Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, Chesapeake Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau, HBK Media, Rejoice Musical Soul Food Network and others.
