Watch Jennifer Hudson's Rendition of 'Amazing Grace' at Aretha Franklin Funeral Here

Former finalist of American Idol and R&B singer Jennifer Hudson gave a soul thrilling rendition of the hymn "Amazing Grace" at the homecoming service of Aretha Franklin. The Queen of Soul's funeral took place in Detroit on Friday.
Aretha Franklin herself had recorded "Amazing Grace." The song appears on her 1972 album of the same name is remarkable, stretching out over more than ten magnificent minutes.
Hudson did not let her heroine down as she belted the lyrics to the hymn with an ferocious passion that moved many in attendance to tears. Clad in a velvet blazer and a fascinator hat, Hudson looked equal parts elegant and stylish as she delivered a major highlight of the seven-hour service.
Her final sustained notes drew cheers from the audience, who rose to their feet in rapturous ovation for the star.
Franklin died on Aug. 16 at the age of 76 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
