Branan Murphy Releases Debut EP
Sony/Provident's Essential Records' pop artist Branan Murphy releases his self-titled debut EP today at all digital outlets. The six-song collection features four previously released tunes that collectively have amassed four+ million streams in just under 16 months: "All The Wrong Things (feat. Koryn Hawthorne)," "Enough," "Talk About It" and "My Life." Launching alongside the EP are two new music videos; the multi-format single "My Life," and the previously unreleased hip-hop collaboration "Top of the World," featuring Reflection Music Group's Canon and COBRA producer JuiceBangers. Both videos can also be viewed below."
This project feels like the beginning of letting the world in on who I am," Branan Murphy shares. "There's a lot of diversity on this record, a lot of raw honesty, a lot of energy - all of those things fit my personality well. It excites me to have these six songs together on the same record because I think each song will hit people in a different way, from a different angle. I like being able to communicate and express myself that way. Just when you think you have me figured out, I give you something new to taste. I love that about art. I hope people really vibe with this introduction and it only makes them want more."
Over the course of the past year, Murphy has captivated listeners with a variety of songs showcasing his penchant for combining brutally honest lyric writing with catchy hook-laden melodies, and his first three releases all reached Top 10 on the CHR radio chart. The debut "All The Wrong Things" featuring "The Voice" Season 8 finalist and RCA Inspiration recording artist Koryn Hawthorne peaked at No. 5 and was the second most played single of 2017 behind Lecrae's "I'll Find You" featuring Tori Kelly. Its follow-up, "Enough," soared up the CHR charts making it up to No. 3, and earlier this year Murphy released "Talk About It" that was added early on by Air1. The fourth and most recent song, "My Life," is currently at radio. Along with "Top of the World," the EP introduces a sixth song entitled "Maybe."
Murphy is currently on the Air1 Positive Hits tour performing alongside Zach Williams, We Are Messengers, Joshua Micah and Aaron Cole. Click here for the tour dates. He will then join We Are Messengers and Aaron Cole on tour later this fall. He recently said about touring, "I'm really grateful to be on the Air1 Positive Hits Tour and to follow that up with the Maybe It's Okay tour (with We Are Messengers and Aaron Cole) this fall. Opportunities like these to take my music to the people will always be like a dream for me and something I pray I never take for granted. Moments like these make me come alive. It's a real blessing."
