Natasha Owens Releases Third Full-Length Album, "Warrior," March 29
Award-winning singer / songwriter Natasha Owens globally releases her third, full-length album, Warrior, March 29 from Radiate Music. The first radio single and title track from the album goes for adds at radio outlets internationally beginning today.
Owens shares the heartache and pain she experienced in the aftermath of her father's sudden passing with her debut album, I Made it Through, followed by hopeful exhales of optimism with her sophomore release, We Will Rise, which sparked coverage by FOX News, XM Radio, CNN and CCM, as well as earned her the fan-voted Best Contemporary Album of the Year award in NewReleaseToday.com's 6th Annual WE LOVE Christian Music Awards. For Warrior, Owens offers an "overcomer's record" that reintroduces herself lyrically, sonically and thematically.
Partnering for the first time with Radiate Music for the release of Warrior, Owen's new album was produced by GRAMMY-nominated, two-time Dove Award-winning "Producer of the Year,"Ian Eskelin, and features songs that have 1980s-style undertones in the instrumentation. "This album is more pop-driven than anything I've ever done before," Owens reveals.
With songs that share themes of declaring God's love, the confidence that comes from knowing Him, and the expectation that we are to step out and share what we know, Warrior'stitle track delivers a pulsating, arena-ready anthem with the central message that there is nothing to fear with God on our side.
"I want to show people that they can make it too," Owens says. "Being a warrior means that my wounds have healed, but I still have the scars to prove it. The scars remind me that I don't have to worry about the next battle because I know God will be standing with me."
This overcomers attitude was put to the test as Owens nearly died last year following a diagnostic, arteriogram procedure that accidentally punctured an artery. Following this procedure that was meant to help with a condition following a car wreck that happened 17 years ago, doctors removed her top rib, as well as several different muscles.
Up at 3 a.m. one morning facing terrible nerve pain, Owen's admits, "I was bawling, so tired and worn down from hurting for so long. Then God just came in, calmed me down and spoke to me. He said that there are so many things in life you don't have control over. You'll have to let Me have control, trust in Me that I've guided you this far and I'm not gonna let you down now."
As a result of that encounter, the final song for Warrior, "Surrender," came to Owens. The song is an overcomer's anthem balanced by the realization that "the only way to truly overcome is to surrender to the loving Savior, Jesus."
The full Warrior track listing follows:
1. Escape
2. Warrior
3. Race To Be Run
4. Just Love
5. Rock Of Our Salvation
6. Get Behind Me
