for KING & COUNTRY Receives Two Grammy Nominations
It's full steam ahead for two-time GRAMMY® Award winner for KING & COUNTRY, as the Nashville based duo has been nominated for two more GRAMMY® Awards this morning. The band's unprecedented collaboration with Dolly Parton on hit track "God Only Knows" has been nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, while the duo's full-length masterwork on which the song lives burn the ships received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. The 62nd GRAMMY Awards®, hosted by Alicia Keys, will air on January 26, 2020 on CBS.
"burn the ships, in many ways, is the most meaningful album of our career," says Joel Smallbone, one half of for KING & COUNTRY. "We've had the distinct privilege to share this music by touring around the world over the past year, and seeing the songs resonate with so many people has been an extraordinary experience. One of the great honors in our career was when Dolly Parton told us that 'God Only Knows' was one of the best songs she'd ever heard. Our proverbial jaws hit the floor and have stayed there, and we cannot thank Dolly enough for her time, generosity, and that wonderfully powerful voice. She's truly a light. With all that said, this nod by our peers is an incredible year-end high."
"God Only Knows" - the 11-week #1 hit - has achieved over 97 million on-demand streams. The remarkable music video reached No. 1 on iTunes across all genres and has been viewed over 5 million times. You can watch for KING & COUNTRY and Dolly Parton's breathtaking music video here.
