Fans Excited Over The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
Following the rousing success of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," fans are looking forward to "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," which is set to be released on November 21.
Similar to the Harry Potter and Twilight series, the final installment of this blockbuster trilogy will be divided into two parts; "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" will be out in November 2015.
Based on the best-selling books written by Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" is set in Panem, a chaotic and poverty-ridden state. Randomly selected representatives of Panem's 13 districts participate in a televised death match each year.
Book purists would be delighted to know that the movie will not veer away from the source material. The movie will expectedly open with Katniss in District 13, where she begins to unify all the districts in an effort to spark a rebellion against the Capitol.
They should, however, brace themselves for a darker and a more brooding take on the story. But director Francis Lawrence is quick to add that there will be unexpected elements such as hope, humor and warmth, which will make the movie much more exciting to watch.
Aside from series stalwarts Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, Julianne Moore has signed on to play President Alma Coin for both Mockingjay movies. Other cast members include Donald Sutherland as the ruthless President Snow, Wes Chatham as Castor, Elden Henson as Pollux, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali as Boggs, and Patina Miller as Commander Paylor.
