Preview of The Revenant Movie: Leonardo DiCaprio Stars in Yet Another Thrilling Film Plus a Few Other Spoilers
The Revenant is one of the many movies that movie geeks and just your ordinary moviegoers alike should clearly watch out for. Based on Michael Punke's 2002 novel entitled The Renevant: A Novel of Revenge, the film tells the story of a man in hot pursuit of revenge, after being left for dead in the middle of nowhere in 19th century North America by a couple of mercenaries whom he tries to hunt down.
The movie introduces 36 - year old Hugh Glass, based on a real - life figure who gets mauled by a bear while in a journey in the wilderness. After being at the mercy of some mercenaries, his supposed rescuers, he was stripped off his belongings and was then abandoned to suffer and die.
Another thing to look forward to is the performance of Hollywood on-screen veteran Leonardo DiCaprio who had recently starred as the lead character in the Oscar - nominated film The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and who had been well-known, of course, as Jack in James Cameron's Titanic (1998). As revealed in several interviews, DiCaprio is set to star as Hugh Glass, the lead character of the film. Along with the actor, Tom Hardy-a co-star in Cristopher Nolan's Inception (2010)-and We're the Millers star Will Poulter are also said to highly likely star in the film.
The film adaptation is set for a September shooting and, if all else goes well, will aim for an autumn 2015 release.
