The Sony Xperia Z2, a Smartphone You Can Comfortably Wwim with: Specs, Reviews and Comments
Like every other company Sony has tried to make sure that they have kept their game high when it comes to the latest smart phone. Now the Sony Xperia Z2 is their latest smartphone and it comes with great specs with some not being changed at all from its previous model. Being Sony Xperia Z1 predecessor the Z2 comes at a time where it has a lot to prove in the market considering the Z1 was released just six months before it was released and also with the pressure from other phone models from the other companies like Samsung, HTC and iPhone.
Its design is really strong with the boxy like body making it look sophisticated and very handsome. It does look much better than the curvy body type phones according to me though but then again beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Now the body offers protection from water hence making the Sony Xperia water resistant and is all sealed up. This does make many people happy especially those who love being around water. It has no removable back in which the microSim card and the microSD cards are slotted under solid pretty obvious plastic flaps that are found on the side of the phone.
The tiny plastic trim found around the rear glass protects it by sticking out a friction of a millimeter, it also gives the phone that boxy feeling that makes it look very nice. Now the slightly larger screen makes the phone look bigger than the rest of its competitors like HTC and Samsung, this doesn't mean that you will feel awkward putting it on your ears when you want to take a phone call, no on the contrary this phone it just perfect and will make you proud to own it.
As for the hardware the power button of the Z2 Xperia is extremely well placed located perfectly under most thumbs. However, the fact that this phone has body that is laden with seams, flap and dock connectors make it not having that simple style that the rest of the phones in this category have like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung S5.
Now its water resistance attribute is what makes this phone unique. It offers the best water resistance when it comes to all android phones. With a coated headphone jack and two rubber sealed ports it earns its IP55 and IP58 certification. This only means that you can submerge the phone in water and it can also handle being pummeled with water jets. As much as the water resistance comes in handy you will have to remove and reseal a flap every time you charge your phone which is quite a bummer. I can imagine replacing the rubber every time and I guarantee that most of you will definitely let it go and just forget it all together.
This phone may have iterative upgrades however it does have a great battery life, strong screen and a solid camera.
