Justin Batt Invites Us to Celebrate Fathers at "Dadifesto"

Three dads had a dream to 'do something' to break the mood amidst a global pandemic with COVID19 and the significant protests in the U.S. They came up with an idea to celebrate dads around the world with "Dadifesto", a virtual international Father's Day celebration that will bring dads of all cultures and races together to celebrate one another with a commitment to creating 'global citizens' of their children through intentional parenting.
Founder of Daddy Saturday, Justin Batt, has partnered with fatherhood-focused agencies to encourage fathers globally and celebrate Father's Day with an international event "Dadifesto." Justin along with Kenneth Braswell (Fathers Incorporated) and Dan Flanagan (Da La Soul) have challenged and encouraged each other and other dads to commit to ensuring their children will be "Global Citizens", caring about the safety and wellbeing of all humans regardless of any obvious differences through race, culture, or class.
Q: Justin, thanks for doing this interview with us. What is "Dadifesto2020" about?
Dadifesto 2020 is a virtual Father's Day celebration developed by Kenneth Braswell (CEO, Fathers Incorporated), Justin Batt (Founder, Daddy Saturday) and Dan Flanagan (Founder, Dad La Soul) when they realized among the three of them, they had significant relationships with dads across the world and they wanted to 'do something' to break the mood amidst a global pandemic with COVID19 and the significant protests in the U.S.
Q: What purposes does "Dadifesto2020" serve?
The purpose of Dadifesto2020 is to celebrate dads in support and unity around the world through a virtual international Father's Day celebration that will bring dads of all cultures and races together to celebrate one another with a commitment to creating 'global citizens' of their children through intentional parenting.
Q: How did this idea of having a virtual Father's Day celebration come about?
Kenneth Braswell (CEO, Fathers Incorporated), Justin Batt (Founder, Daddy Saturday) and Dan Flanagan (Founder, Dad La Soul) were all working in the fatherhood space in their own respective channels and upon connecting determined there were multiple areas of overlap in our shared desire to help men be better dads through an experience.
Q: Is "Dadifesto2020" open to everyone? And how can people register for it?
It is open to everyone, however there are only 30 limited spots for people to register at Dadifesto2020.com. We are capping the attendees at 96 to represent the significance of the number of men between 30-40 committing suicide in the U.K. every day.
Q: Besides "Dadifesto2020," you also have a new book out! What's your book "Daddy Saturday" about?
Daddy Saturday is a field manual for fathers who want to unlock the unlimited potential inside of their kids by being a more intentional and engaged father. As an active dad of four kids, it's coming from the perspective of someone who's in the trenches every day as a dad and readers can learn from my mistakes and a few of my triumphs as a dad.
Q: In all your experience in the area of parenting, what's the best advice you can give to dads about parenting?
Two things:
1. Far more is caught than taught. Your kids learn far more by watching your example, how you display your faith, how you treat others, your diet, exercise habits, then they do by what you say to them.
2. Stop trying to be your kids hero and instead be their guide. Help them be the hero of their own story by experiencing success and failure on their own with you as their guide. You already are your kids hero and you always will be... set them up for success later in life and assume the proper role as their guide.
