Pastor Mike, Jr. Gets His First Dove Award Nomination
In light of the knowledge that a BIG God does BIG things, Blacksmoke Music Worldwide congratulates its own breakout artist Pastor Mike, Jr as "BIG," the lead single from his Billboard top charting debut album Live Free is nominated for a Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year.
The formidably influential Alabama pastor, singer and songwriter is in the midst of his thank you tour visiting radio stations across the country for their support of BIG. BIG hit number one on the BDS radio chart and spent a solid month and a half in the top spot. Pastor Mike conveyed these sentiments regarding the nomination.
"Words can't express how special this is, sitting back looking over this journey, to sing a song called BIG and actually see God do big things in your life is proof that this song is more than just music, it's a prophetic declaration that if you trust God, He will come through for you. I'm just in awe of God. to be nominated for an award that I have watched for years means the world to me. I was watching the YouTube presentation waiting to see what would happen and when I saw it, I screamed. I was assuming I would be in the New Artist category but when I saw it in Contemporary Gospel Song of the Year, I just started screaming, I'm excited and appreciative, I have to thank Kerry Douglas and this incredible team around me for their support, I am just blown away."
Blacksmoke CEO Kerry Douglas added, "I believe this is the season for Pastor Mike, Jr. and we are proud of him. God makes ways, this is just how He does things, Big went big at radio and now we are following up with I Got It, the doors are open and we are walking through them."
Pastor Mike recently released the Big Freedom Session as well as a concept video for his new single, I Got It. Both are available now for digital download and on streaming platforms.
