Brian Doerksen Releases "I Heard the Voice" From Forthcoming Hymns Album

Worship leader Brian Doerksen has just released his new single "I Heard the Voice." The words are by Horatius Bonar (1846) and this recording features a new refrain by Brian Doerksen.
The single is taken from Brian's forthcoming 10th full-length solo album, Hymns For Life, in which he shares his signature version of life affirming hymns like 'It Is Well', 'Just As I Am' and 'This Is My Father's World'. The album features lush orchestral arrangements, a children's choir and Brian's full band, and is due for release in Spring 2021 as the follow up to his 2019 album Faithful One.
The Voice is always speaking, gently, like a whisper. Sometimes we scarcely hear it in our busy clamoring world. Brian Doerksen's updated version of the Scottish hymn 'I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say' helps us listen anew with a 'new world meets traditional' feel energized by synth muscle, a soaring violin and a captivating new refrain.
Brian Doerksen's songs ('Come, now is the time to worship', 'Faithful One') are sung in faith communities around the world. In 2008, Brian received a JUNO award for 'Holy God' (Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the year) and in 2014 at the Covenant Awards he received a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' from the Gospel Music Association of Canada.
In the summer of 2019 Brian released 'Faithful One' containing 16 of his legacy songs featuring new arrangements of songs like 'I Lift My Eyes Up', 'Stay' and 'Faithful One.' In 2019 he released his first Christmas album, 'The Heart Of Christmas' which was nominated for a JUNO in 2020. His latest album 'Hymns For Life' is being released in March 2021. Married to Joyce for 36 years, their 6 children include 2 sons with special needs (Fragile X) and they live in Abbotsford, B.C.
