Church Musician Michael Kimon Rigsby Passes Away at 26

The Christian community is mourning the loss of Michael Kimon Rigsby, a gifted and deeply loved worship musician, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 26. Rigsby was reported missing on the evening of June 22, and his body was found the following morning in his vehicle in Frisco, Texas.
Known for his dynamic musical talents and his role as organist at The Bridge Frisco (formerly The Potter's House of North Dallas), Michael's sudden death has left a profound void in his church, family, and local music circles.
His mother, Kim Cooks, revealed in a recent interview that Michael had been urged by a doctor to see a cardiologist just over a month before his passing. A referral dated May 18 was found among his belongings, recommending that he see a specialist within two days. The family was unaware of any prior heart issues, and it remains unclear whether Michael was able to follow through with the appointment.
"He was so full of life and love - always smiling, always creating music that touched people's hearts," said his mother. "We had no idea he might have been facing a serious medical issue."
Michael is survived by his parents, Kim Cooks Collins and Todd Watson, his young son Kimon, and several siblings. His sudden loss has prompted an outpouring of grief and remembrance from those who knew him both personally and through his ministry.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with funeral costs, as the family is facing complications with insurance coverage.
