Patrick Dopson Hopes to Keep Jesus Central with "There is a Name"

Gospel music's songwriter and singer Patrick Dopson hopes to keep Jesus central with his brand new single "There is a Name." The song is produced by Dopson and Grammy® Award-winning producer Kevin Camp.
"I am excited to have this new record going to radio," says Dopson. "Although it's a fun song musically and lyrically, I dove deep into making sure the message was solid and that the name of Jesus was the center focus."
In 2015 Patrick overcame a life-altering diagnosis of kidney cancer. That experience propelled him into a more intimate relationship with Christ and a more profound desire to keep Him at the center of life.
"I have a chance to share my testimony in overcoming kidney cancer some years ago," he shares. "People need to remember their power in calling on His name. I'm praying that this song causes faith to fill cars, living rooms, dorms, hospital rooms, and all of the above as we do our part to make His name great in the earth."
"There Is A Name" also features musical contributions by the late Parris Bowens. Parris was a young, undeniably gifted Philadelphia-based musician, producer, and songwriter with credits on projects by James Fortune, Tye Tribett, Musiq Soulchild, Bubba Sparxx, and many more.
"The song is extra special to myself and Kevin because of the collaborative contribution of our brother Parris Bowens," Dopson explains. "Parris had a brilliant mind. His musical gift still goes unmatched, but even more so, he was that once-in-a-lifetime friend that everyone needs in their circle. His ideas were ingenious and innovative. He had the ear and voice of a prophet when he ministered. You knew heaven had touched his life by the way he expressed himself through music and thought. We hope to honor his wife Dionne, his sons Matty and Patrick, his extended family, and his legacy in this release."
"There Is a Name" is available for here on all digital music outlets and has begun playing on Gospel radio stations across the country.
