Mitch Wong is Excited About a "Burial"

Nashville-based and Australian-born Mitch Wong releases his brand new single "Burial." The song, co-written with Cody Carnes, is the first single from Wong's forthcoming debut album. The theological depth of Mitch Wong's songs is central in his ministry, and "Burial" expands on the challenging call to discipleship that one must face when following Jesus.
Wong writes, "If you're a little bit confused why I'm this excited about a burial... good! Not all burials are bad. In fact, sometimes a burial is the ONLY WAY to see a miracle. Even Jesus had to experience one on Friday before He rose on Sunday. And it's the same with us!"
"I knew that this song would be track number one because the album goes on a journey from 'burial' to 'bloom'," Mitch comments. Yet, more than a structural and creative move, introducing his project with "Burial" sets the scene for the revelation carried in his song writing: the mystery that unfolds after the burial is that we are made new creations in Christ; the old is gone and behold, the new has come.
Wong has also recently won a GMA Dove Award® for co-writing CeCe Winans' song "Believe For It." Wong and his co-writers took the award home in the Song of the Year category.
Wong began writing songs as a teenager and quickly developed an obsession for it, captivated by the miracle of how atmospheres can shift, lives can change, and faith can break out at the sound of music, melody, and a message. It's a mystery that he hasn't fully figured out and hopes he never will.
With this in mind, Mitch is passionate about making music that moves the heart of God and ministers to the Church. His sound ranges from energetic praise to intimate, psalm-like worship, all created with the intent of drawing people to Jesus. To this day, he is incredibly humbled by and grateful for the opportunities he has had to write songs and sing them, whether in crowded rooms or alone with the Lord. He has collaborated with some of today's most influential Christian worship leaders, such as Darlene Zschech, CeCe Winans, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Brooke Ligertwood.
